Hello Friends!
March is Women’s History Month and I would be remiss to not highlight some of the wonderful women in this world that I love and admire. This began as a local celebration in Santa Rosa, California (who knew! I did not) in 1978, and spread to other communities as word traveled about it. By 1987 Congress officially declared March to be Women’s History Month to celebrate women’s contributions to history, culture and society.
I hope that everyone has at least one woman in their life that sparks that instant, “What a special human” feeling when they think of them. Mine would definitely be my grandma. She was an extraordinary person who taught me so much about being strong, independent, and trusting myself when it came to what I wanted in life. She was not a perfect person, and for that I am grateful too. Because of this she also helped me realize we don’t have to be a perfect person to make a positive impact and be loved.
In the spirit of love, lifting up, and inspiration, here are few women that I admire:
My sister Elizabeth for her curiosity, playfulness, and the way she loves her daughters.
My friend Jen for her passion and dedication to putting 100% into everything she does.
My friend Angelica for her uncanny ability to find humor and laughter in everything.
My cousin Nicole for her ability to walk into any room and unapologetically be herself.
My sister Crystal for her ability to be a strong matriarch while also being loving and laid back.
My sister Jezmine for her vibrance, spunk, enthusiasm for life and dedication to great meals.
My sister friend Maggie for her authenticity, talent, and the comfort her presence brings.
My mom for her ability to see something beautiful in everything and good in everyone.
My family & friend Josie for her love and support, desire to learn and try new things, and always have fun.
Apparently I just wanted to write a love letter to the people I care about. That was fun, 10 out of 10 would recommend trying it as it just made me even more grateful for the women in my life.
